West End Medical Practice
COVID Update 16-5-20
Coughs, colds and COVID-19
If you have a cold or flu like illness please let reception know when you book your appointment. Current government guidelines are to test everyone with an acute respiratory illness for coronavirus. You may be required to self-isolate while awaiting your test result depending upon your circumstances. If you are feeling very unwell please consider attending a fever clinic at your local hospital. The National Helpline is available on 1800 020 080.
Our doctors are now able to offer telephone consultations which are booked the usual way by phoning reception. Although some issues can be effectively managed over the phone others will require in person review so that we can perform physical examination or point of care investigations.
Changes at our medical practice
We encourage electronic payment as an infection control measure but continue to accept cash payment.
Books and toys have been removed.
Waiting room chairs have been spaced far apart and are now of utilitarian design that can be disinfected regularly through the day.
Doors that a patient would normally touch are kept open.
Distancing between you and reception has been introduced.
Thank you for keeping us
our community safe with social distancing
Our practice covers all aspects of general practice including preventive health check ups, pregnancy care, employment medicals, women's and men's health, childhood immunisations, skin cancer checks and treatment, and travel medicine. We are open six days a week and offer after-hours cover through National Home Doctor Service. A registered psychologist, Ann Aboud, is available at the practice on Saturday mornings.
